Is the most interested side of fueling the conflict in Syria. They have long been eyeing Ukraine, and the Russia invasion in the Ukrainian South- East region, which occurred this spring in Lagans and Donates, gave the U. S. A legitimate reason to intervene in the conflict. Without presenting any formal evidence, the U. S. Laid the blame for the violence on the east border of Ukraine on the Russian attempts to split the country according to Gremlinââ¬â¢s plan and expressed commitment to support the Ukrainian anti-terrorist operation in the region! The same pattern was developed a few years ago prior the U. S. Invasion of Iraq. It seems that the situation is repeated. The U. S. Determined to introduce sanctions on Russia, and they are not alone in its decision ââ¬Å"to stand up for the Ukrainian people and to release it from under the yoke of authoritarian rule. Different nations wanted control over more land and to be the dominant nation in Europe. We will write a custom essay sample on World war or any similar topic only for you Order Now The assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wife Sophie was a small but very powerful event that led to the beginning of a very long chain of events. Alliances between lots of different countries also contributed to World War 1 . The war first started Just In Europe, but alliances with many other countries outside of Europe caused the conflict In Europe to become a world war. The Arms Race was another factor of the war. Certain European countries competed against each other to see who would have the most powerful army. A large amount of money was spent and pretty much every country In the Arms Race adopted conscription. Global conflicts on such a large scale are rarely ever because of 1 simple cause. Nation leaders acted unreasonably and the war could very easily have been prevented, and many lives saved. All the countries that were involved in World War 1 really had one primary desire, to main control of more land for their nation or country. They do this because they are trying to be loyal to their nation and want to do whatever they can for its benefit. This is called imperialism and nationalism. Imperialism and nationalism have been the cause of many long-term tensions and conflicts all around the world, even before the First World War. Countries wanted to take land off other nations because of the raw materials the contained, take care of a threat or for some other need or want. This led to war between nations. As the opposing side were usually nationalists and cared or their country, they would defend it and fight back at the enemy. A very significant act of nationalism was when the Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie were assassinated and Austria fought back. Austria then had an excuse to declare war on Serbia and this was the first step to world war. This started the chain of events that eventually led to World War 1 . Sometimes, other countries even tried to take over other countries Just to show other nations their dominance and that they were powerful. No matter what the reason, imperialism eventually led to conflict. Imperialism also led to alliances sometimes, when a country wanted the reassurance of another country to make them feel safer and to Increase their chances of success. Alliances also helped the world war to happen. They were not directly starting the war but once a conflict had started, alliances would be like a spark that would start out of control war if some of the nations were involved in an alliance. The countries that started the conflict may think making an alliance with other countries was a very smart decision at the time, but it Just causes more trouble for everybody because ore people being dragged into the war means more people will suffer. World War 1 started off as conflict between a few countries in Europe. But as other countries stepped in, to protect allies, the solvable conflict became a world war. As the world entered into chaos as the war started, the Arms Race in Europe began. The Arms Race was a competition between some of the great powers in Europe for superiority in the army, Ana and air force, by accumulating more weapons, soldiers and developing weaponry. The air force at the time of WWW was not very powerful as technology was not as developed as it is today. Nearly all the countries in World War 1 were involved in the Arms Race. All the countries in the Arms Race had adopted conscription. This is when all the men in that country are forced to enlist in the war as a soldier. This greatly increased the amount of people involved in the war. Large amounts of money were also spent for the purposes of the Arms Race. The great powers of Europe increased military expenditure by 300%! Franceââ¬â¢s standing army in 1913 was 690,000 but rapidly grew to 827,000 by 1914! When more weapons are accumulated, the likelihood of war increases, as the Race started before the war did. The Arms Race also led to nations wanting more power. Militarism was especially powerful during this time. World War 1 was a massive war that could not have been the outcome of 1 simple cause. Imperialism, nationalism, the assassination of the Archduke and his wife, militarism, the Arms Race and alliances all played a part in the war. The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie was a very significant even in the war that triggered a long chain of events. John Cena ââ¬ÅYou Canââ¬â¢t See Meââ¬Â free essay sample
ââ¬Å"Yeah boy, yeah,â⬠is Flava Flavs oft-quoted catchphrase, but the one people should be repeating is, ââ¬Å"You cant see me.â⬠This is the famous line of wrestler-turned-rapper John Cena. Hailing from Massachusetts, Cena became a wrestler in 2001 and has been at the top ever since. He is all that and a bag of potato chips in wrestling, but Cena is also da bomb at something else: rap. I bought Cenas CD because it had his entrance music on it. When I finished listening, I explored the rest and was surprised at what I heard. It was a pleasant surprise, as I wasnt expecting his songs to be good. It felt like digging for treasure and finding tons of gold every time I listened to a new song. I like that Cena writes his own lyrics since most rappers just use others lyrics. When you sing your own, it sounds a lot better because it is coming from your heart. We will write a custom essay sample on John Cena ââ¬Å"You Canââ¬â¢t See Meâ⬠or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page I also like that Cena brings in his rapper cousin, Tha Trademarc, to help. Together they make the songs flow nicely. These two are even better than 50 Cent and The Game because they have a bond and sound like one person when they sing. Cena started his rap career in the WWE. On a bus ride, when everyone was into hip-hop, the wrestlers were free styling and having a good time. Cena started to free style, and the creative team heard him and thought this should be his storyline while wrestling. A few years later, Cena wanted to get a CD out there to show that he could rap as well as anyone. I think he did a great job, but there is one problem: the stereotype that athletes are only good at sports. Most of the time that is true, as evidenced by Shaq and his CD, or when Hulk Hogan made a CD which became the stereotype for wrestlers. But you have to try Cenas CD and forget the stereotype. See how amazing this dude can rap. If you like it, give him the respect he deserves and walk up to any opposing rapper and say, ââ¬Å"You cant see me.ââ¬

Love Metaphors From Literature and Pop Culture
Love Metaphors From Literature and Pop Culture In literature, music, and popular culture, love is often used as a metaphor, aà tropeà orà figure of speechà in which an implied comparison is made between two unlike things that actually have something in common. For example, when Neil Young sings, Love is a rose, the word rose is the vehicle for the term love, the tenor. Or as Milan Kundera wrote in The Unbearable Lightness of Being, I have said before that metaphors are dangerous. Love begins with a metaphor. He might have added that love sometimes ends with a metaphor as well. Like the experience of love itself, metaphors make connections. So its no surprise that love has been imagined, examined, and remembered through a wide variety of figurative comparisons, as the quotes below show. Love as a Fruit or Plant As the collection of passages in this and the below sections demonstrate, love has been compared to everything from a plant to a truck. The metaphors in this collection are anything but conventional. Love is a fruit, in season at all times and within the reach of every hand. Anyone may gather it and no limit is set.ââ¬â Mother Teresa, No Greater Love I look at you and wham, Im head over heels.I guess that love is a banana peel.I feel so bad and yet Im feeling so well.I slipped, I stumbled, I fellââ¬â Ben Weisman and Fred Wise, I Slipped, I Stumbled, I Fell, sung by Elvis Presley in the film Wild in the Country Love is a spice with many tastes- a dizzying array of textures and moments.ââ¬â Wayne Knight as Newman in the final episode of Seinfeld Now that youre gone I can seeThat love is a garden if you let it go.It fades away before you know,And love is a garden- it needs help to grow.ââ¬â Jewel and Shaye Smith, Love Is a Garden Love is a plant of the most tender kind,That shrinks and shakes with every ruffling windââ¬â George Granville, The British Enchanters As a Phenomenon of Nature Washington Irvingà compared love to the rosy cloud in the morning of life, but many others have likened love to various phenomena of nature from lightning to stars and fire, as the quotes in this section demonstrate. Oh, love is a journey with water and stars, with drowning air and storms of flour;love is a clash of lightnings, two bodies subdued by one honey.ââ¬â Pablo Neruda, Sonnet 12 [Love] is an ever-fixed markThat looks on tempests and is never shaken; It is the star to every wandering bark,Whose worths unknown, although his height be taken.ââ¬â William Shakespeare, Sonnet 116 Love is a fire.It burns everyone. It disfigures everyone. It is the worlds excusefor being ugly.ââ¬â Leonard Cohen, The Energy of Slaves Loves fire, if it once goes out, is hard to kindle.ââ¬â German proverb An Animal Kurt Vonnegut called love a hawk with velvet claws, but many singers, writers, authors, and figures in popular culture have compared love to various animals, including dogs, birds, and even a crocodile. Love is a dog from hell.ââ¬â Charles Bukowski, Love Is a Dog From Hell Loves wingà moultsà when caged and captured,Only free he soars enraptured.ââ¬â Thomas Campbell, Loves Philosophy Love is a crocodile in the river of desire.ââ¬â Bhartá ¹âºhari, Ã
Å¡atakatraya Happiness is the china shop; love is the bull.ââ¬âà H.L. Mencken, A Little Book in C Major And Even a Disease Love has been compared to many things, but surprisingly, some have likened it to a disease, as the eclectic mix of quotes shows in this final section. They say it is better to travel than to arrive. Its not been my experience, at least. The journey of love has been rather a lacerating, if well-worth-it, journey.ââ¬â D.H. Lawrence, Fantasia of the Unconscious Love is a truck and an open road,Somewhere to start and a place to go.ââ¬â Mojave 3, Truck Driving Man They say love is a two-way street. But I dont believe it, because the one Ive been on for the last two years was a dirt road.ââ¬â Terry McMillan, Waiting to Exhale Love is the master key that unlocks the gates of happiness, of hatred, of jealousy, and most easily of all, the gate of fear.ââ¬â Oliver Wendell Holmes, A Moral Antipathy Love is a beggar, most importunate,Uncalled he comes and makes his dear demandsââ¬â Corinne Roosevelt Robinson, Love Is a Beggar I thought love would be my cureBut now its my disease.ââ¬â Alicia Keyes, Love Is My Disease Is it natural for a man to fall in love? 8 Ways to Make a Terrible First Impression
8 Ways to Make a Terrible First Impression You know how important the first impression is. Thatââ¬â¢s why it can be really easy to screw it up- even if you only screw it up by trying too hard. Here are a few ways to really make a belly flop of your first impression. Study them and make sure to pivot in another direction! 1. Try Too HardWe know you want to be memorable. So do they. If youââ¬â¢re too witty, too eager, too high energy; if you finish your interviewerââ¬â¢s sentences or jump in too quickly with a personal anecdote or some sidebar to explain some aspect of your resume; if youââ¬â¢re generally just too RIGHT THERE rather than making an effort to listen to your conversation partner rather than performâ⬠¦ then youââ¬â¢re trying too hard. And whomever youââ¬â¢re talking too is probably more tired than intrigued.2. Being Too ââ¬Å"Differentâ⬠If youââ¬â¢re laboring to point out your personal quirks in a transparent effort to set yourself apart from the crowd, you might actually be doing you rself a disservice. Thereââ¬â¢s nothing wrong with being average or above average. You donââ¬â¢t have to shout how unique you are at every conversational turn.3. Bad Body LanguageHow you carry yourself matters, too. Try not to cross your arms across your chest. Make sure to smile and make eye contact- as failure to do both can make you seem hostile and untrustworthy. And whatever you do, be respectful of othersââ¬â¢ personal space. Donââ¬â¢t be the space invader.4. InappropriatenessDonââ¬â¢t gossip.à Youââ¬â¢ll come off looking terrible. And donââ¬â¢t make rude or inappropriate jokes- particularly off-color ones or potentially political or bigoted ones either. No one will want to get to know you better if youââ¬â¢re rude or racist.5. RudenessIf you keep checking your watch- or worse, staring at your phone the entire time, then you deserve to make a bad impression. Grow up. Put your devices down and be present for the five minutes it takes to make a good imp ression.6. OversharingDonââ¬â¢t try to forge instant intimacy by sharing all the intimate details of your life. Your personal history should stay at least a little personal for the first 10 minutes of a new connection. And you never know when you might put your foot in your mouth because of not knowing anything about the other personââ¬â¢s personal history. Also, you and this person have literally just met. How can you be sure theyââ¬â¢re trustworthy?7. NosinessOn the other hand, donââ¬â¢t ask a bunch of nosy personal questions to try and find out that other personââ¬â¢s intimate personal history. Let that stuff happen naturally over time as the relationship builds. If you even make it out of the conversation with a relationship to build, that is.8. SteamrollingThis includes filling every silence with chatterâ⬠¦ and assuming the other person agrees with you about everything you say, and then ranting on and on about it. Take a moment to step back and give your conv ersation partners some space to speak. Try listening for once and donââ¬â¢t be too stingy to relinquish your spot in the driverââ¬â¢s seat.

Poetry & Response Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Poetry & Response - Essay Example The third part is the animated segments which is the illustration of the poem itself. I appreciated how the movie was structured. At first I thought that it was just a simple biography of Ginsberg but after watching the movie, I realized it was not a biopic but it actually focused on the poem ââ¬Å"Howlâ⬠. I find the film entertaining with its crossing of different time periods and animation techniques. I think the animation is quite traditional but very imaginative. I am impressed with the contrast presented by the monochrome flashbacks as against the colorful courtroom scenes. I admired the interesting courtroom scenes especially since I learned that the dialogue used was derived from the actual courtroom transcripts. That is important to me because I know that the movie was faithful to facts. However, I think that the courtroom scenes would have been more meaningful if Ginsberg was present Bravo to James Francoââ¬â¢s portrayal of the young Ginsberg which fits him to a ââ¬Å"Tâ⬠. I consider his performance as outstanding and convincing. I appreciate Francoââ¬â¢s intonation and inflection since it was an accurate depiction of Ginsbergââ¬â¢s way of speaking. Kudos too to Jon Hamm and David Strathairn who played their roles perfectly as warring lawyers. In conclusion, I think that ââ¬Å"Howlâ⬠was effective in bringing a radical literary piece to the movies and making it come alive. The performance of the actors contributed much to the boldness and worthiness of this film. The movieââ¬â¢s value is in its innovativeness in interspersing the courtroom drama with the elaborate animation and the rendition of the key moments of Ginsbergââ¬â¢s youth. I would gladly watch this movie again and recommend it to my

Travel to Peru for Yoga Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Travel to Peru for Yoga - Essay Example Other elements such as product price and ease of acquisition come into play. For instance, you have a car and you want somebody to clean it every day (ideal situation) because you feel bad about cleaning it every-day (actual situation) so you decide to outsource the services of an individual or a specialized firm to do this task at whatever cost. You donââ¬â¢t judge how to reach this ideal situation. So you wonââ¬â¢t have a purchase in this situation. This is the second most important element in the buying process of a consumer. Once the consumer had identified the need for a product, the consumer will explore possible solutions to the needed problem. They will look for more information or less information depending on the choices they need to make as pertains to the identified need. There are two main sources for gathering information. They are external and internal sources. The internal source is already present in the consumersââ¬â¢ memory while the external source is obtained from either friends, family or from the press. The consumer will pay much attention to the internal information as opposed to the external information to make purchase decisions. Once the consumer collects all the information, they will explore more alternatives that seem suitable to satisfy their needs and pick the one that befits them. To make this possible, they will evaluate the attributes of a product. Each consumer has a unique way of evaluating these attributes. All brands are not equal to all consumers; consumers prefer different brands to others depending on how they perceive these brands.Consumers will also use the information that they had collected previously to make the evaluation easier for them. At this stage the consumer has evaluated all the options available with regards to the products. The remaining part is to make a purchase for the product that ultimately fulfills their need. This stage may also be
